Pardon the Mess

As you may have noticed, things are looking a little different around here. The website is very much a work in progress (and probably will remain so for a looooong time), but overall I’m liking the look and feel much better already.

A lot of that is due to the art I commissioned from my friend. When I first thought of branding for Outstanding Underground, the image that came to mind was a mole with a gold star as its nose. Being irredeemably queer, I rainbowed up the star. But even with all those colors in its nose, what I’d put together still felt dark and serious. And while I am far from a ray of sunshine, I am also not remotely serious.

Enter Bloo. She was able to take my rambling thoughts and half-formed ideas and make them fabulous. Thus, I am excited to introduce Maxx:

a cartoon mole with a flip of purple hair, grinning and wearing star-shaped rainbow glasses. It is popping out of a green D20 with its arms spread in front of a orange-purple gradient background.

They are the new face of Outstanding Underground and have already brightened the place up a quite a bit. You can also see their influence on Facebook and Patreon.

If you are in the market for original art or illustrations, I highly recommend Bloo. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she’s also a wonderful person. Check her out on Instagram and make sure to tell her Stormy sent ya.
